Whole-Journey Safeguarding Ensures Peace of Mind
Q: Could you share with us how the Operation team of Chayora Data Center successfully ensured absolute security during 618 Cybersecurity in Important Period (CIP)?
Jia Xu: This 618 CIP is an opportunity for us to fulfill the commitment to our clients, and also a chance to assess the performance of our team. To ensure flawless operations, the Chayora Operation team has established a comprehensive support team, a first-line assurance team, a manufacturer support team, and a logistics team. Each team collaborates closely, conducting preventive maintenance, manufacturer inspections, key equipment performance tests, rotation tests, parameter checks, backups, and special security checks in advance. Every task is executed with precision, and every detail is recorded. We began preparing for the event two months ahead of time. The dedication of each member of the operation team was crucial in ensuring the stability of customer operations during the security period.”
Unsung Heroes, Providing Seamless Protection
Q: Can you share your work related to HVAC and the key achievements of this year’s 618 Cybersecurity in Important Period (CIP)?
Xu Heng: My name is Xu Heng. I joined Chayora in October of last year, and I am responsible for operating and maintaining the HVAC system. This year’s 618 CIP highlighted Chayora’s expertise in not only meticulous design but also efficient construction and safe operation. We took the event very seriously, with comprehensive planning in the early stages and strict implementation during the event to ensure its success.
For the HVAC work, we conducted thorough safety inspections, fault management, risk assessments, and preventive maintenance of key equipment, all starting two months in advance as planned. Ensuring the safety and stability of the equipment was essential for the reliable operation of the system. To handle the increased demand during the event, we optimized and adjusted the system operations ahead of time. The equipment manufacturer provided robust technical support, on-site duty coverage, and prompt response to any equipment emergencies. Throughout the event, professional engineers and equipment manufacturers conducted frequent inspections, closely monitored equipment status, and ensured its safe and stable operation.
Q: Can you describe the challenges faced by the duty team and the experiences gained during this year’s 618 CIP?
Zhang Saiyi: With the successful completion of the security event, our logistics team feels honored to have been a part of it. We prepared in advance according to security standards, arranging materials such as site deployment resources and medical supplies to ensure we had everything needed during the event. Additionally, we maintained efficient communication and coordination with various departments throughout the event. Our focus on detail and thoughtfulness helped ensure a smooth experience for everyone involved.
Q: As a member of the logistics team, what insights and experiences can you share from the 618 CIP?
Zhang Guiyang: During this 618 CIP, my key takeaway is the meticulous and comprehensive approach Chayora Data Center took in areas like personnel organization, equipment system stability, and emergency management. Here’s a detailed breakdown of my experience:
Pre-CIP: Engineers inspected and maintained critical equipment, assessed risks in the computer room, formulated risk control measures, and checked spare parts and emergency supplies. After these inspections, the network was secured to ensure equipment stability. Department leaders formulated duty schedule, and clarified responsibilities. The team coordinated to participate in the drill.
During CIP: The duty team conducted inspections of the computer room every two hours, monitoring temperature, humidity, and electrical systems to ensure everything was functioning normally. Engineers and leadership were on standby 24/7, coordinating with frontline teams to ensure equipment safety and respond to emergencies.
Post-CIP: The 2024 “6.18” CIP concluded successfully. Moving forward, the operation team will continue to uphold its mission with responsibility, demonstrating Chayora’s commitment through our actions and providing excellent service to our users.
Q: What key experiences and advancements can you share from this year’s 618 CIP work?
Teng Yong: Reflecting on this year's 618 CIP work, I am struck by the team’s progress in several areas:
During the Pre-CIP period, we focused on detailed control and plan refinement, and conducted four targeted drills that enhanced our emergency response capabilities. Engineers from various disciplines provided thorough and systematic training, which significantly improved our overall professional skills. We carefully reviewed the security process, clarified tasks for each time period, and refined our approach to handling emergencies.

During the event, communication and collaboration within the team were more efficient, enabling us to address and resolve issues swiftly. We increased the inspection frequency to six times throughout the event. Second-line engineers and suppliers conducted targeted inspections to ensure thorough and detailed oversight. Key equipment and facilities were photographed, recorded, and the data was synchronized with relevant leaders in real time for analysis and summary. Any anomalies were addressed immediately to ensure a swift response.
