Chayora Tianjin Data Center has been awarded the Uptime Institute Tier III TCOS Gold Certification.

Chayora's China Hyperscale Data Center Park infrastructure development and operator announced today that its Tianjin Data Center Park has received the Tier Certification of Operational Sustainability (TCOS) Tier III Gold certification from the Uptime Institute.

The Uptime Institute recognizes Chayora's Tianjin Data Center for fully achieving the operational sustainability capabilities of the Tier III infrastructure. The TCOS certification is based on its scoring system, which awards a TCOS Bronze certification when a data center operator demonstrates the basic capabilities to operate the facility under specified requirements. Under broader production and operational conditions, operators can receive Silver or Gold certifications based on their scores if they can proactively plan to ensure their data centers possess sufficient operational adaptability under various circumstances. The Chayora Tianjin Park showcases excellent management and operations, demonstrating a strong operational capability characterized by its operational features and very low operational risks. Consistently adhering to this operational capability and continually reducing data center operational risks has proven to minimize the likelihood of human error, which is the primary cause of data center outages.

The comprehensive development of the Chayora Tianjin data center campus and the Greater Shanghai data center will provide customers with over 200 MW of IT load capacity and more than 35,000 racks of capacity.

“Chayora demonstrates a strong commitment to operational sustainability through its attainment of the Uptime Tier III TCOS Gold certification,” said Christopher Brown, Chief Technology Officer of the Uptime Institute. “Chayora completed an impressive amount of preparation throughout the remote certification process, which enabled them to successfully and seamlessly achieve the Gold certification.”

The TCOS certification includes additional assessment criteria around building functionality and infrastructure, providing a more comprehensive evaluation of a data center's sustainability. Chayora's Operations Director, Zhao Yuanfu, stated: “I am very proud of my team for meeting the challenging testing requirements set by the Uptime Institute and achieving this significant certification. This also proves that our Chayora Tianjin data center campus operates at a world-class standard.”

“Chayora’s Tianjin data center campus provides ample capacity and reliable expansion space for domestic and international clients seeking world-class operational standard infrastructure, thereby delivering exceptional service standards and capabilities to data center clients in Beijing and the surrounding areas,” said Jonathan Berney, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Chayora. “This certification is based on our existing Uptime Institute Tier design and construction certification, and the Chayora campus is also the first data center in Northern China to obtain OCP Ready™ certification.”
